Pegasus Astro USB Control Hub

Centralised, switchable USB connectivity

Pegasus Astro USB Control Hub installed on the main telescope and connected to the rig devices

The Pegasus Astro USB Control Hub brings six USB connections together in a unit designed for astrophotography. Each port can be switched independently, including its data and power lines, while Multi Transaction Operation preserves USB 3.1 performance when USB 2.0 devices are also connected.

Computer connection and control software

The hub connects through a 5-metre active USB cable to a Windows 11 laptop running the applications that coordinate the complete setup. NINA manages imaging sessions and telescope control; PHD2 handles autoguiding, while Stellarium provides the planetarium view and target selection. Pegasus Astro Unity monitors the USB Control Hub and PPB Micro together, displaying connection status, temperature and humidity, power consumption and the output level of the dew heaters fitted to the main telescope and guide scope. In this way, a single USB link connects the rig to the computer and allows the whole system to be controlled and monitored from one place.
