TS-Optics TS102RED 0.8×

Focal reduction and field correction for the TS 102ED

Side view of the imaging train with the TS-Optics TS102RED 0.8× positioned between the focuser and filter wheel

The TS-Optics TS102RED performs two jobs in a single component. As a 0.8× reducer, it changes the OTA’s native 714 mm and f/7 configuration to approximately 571 mm and f/5.6, widening the captured field and bringing exposure time to about 64% of the original. As a flattener, it corrects field curvature so stars remain sharp towards the edges of the sensor. In the photograph it sits after the focuser and before the filter wheel and camera. It is designed for 100–102 mm f/7 ED and APO refractors and provides a corrected field up to 30 mm, suitable for APS-C sensors.
