NGC 7380 – Wizard Nebula
NGC 7380, popularly known as the Wizard Nebula, lies in a gas- and dust-rich region of the Milky Way. It contains a young open cluster whose massive stars ionize the surrounding emission nebula. The complex has an apparent magnitude of approximately +7.2 and is primarily ionized by the massive binary system DH Cephei (HD 215835), composed of O-type stars. It is located in the constellation Cepheus, at an estimated distance of between 7,000 and 8,500 light-years.
